Checking out your credit score

If you want to know what your credit worthiness is in the eyes of people who do not know you, you need to check credit score.

This is the only way that you can actually say for certain that you know what others are going to think of you in various financial situations.

Therefore, it is important that you try to look at that score whenever you possibly can. At very least, you should check it once per year since this is free under Canadian law.

People often feel that they are not able to check their score because of the cost of doing so. This is a misguided belief though.

As it turns out, checking your score the first time each year is free. Therefore, there is no legitimate excuse for why you cannot at least do that. You are doing yourself a huge favor when you do check this score, and who doesn’t want to know this kind of information?

The credit score that you receive is completely unique to you. No one else has this score, and the information contained within the report is entirely yours alone.

Therefore, you will want to lock away this information and perhaps keep it private depending on how you feel about that. That decision is completely up to you.

When you go to check credit score, you need to be sure that you are at a computer that can print off said score for you.

This matters because you need to review that report from time to time, and it is important to have a copy of it. Since you are only allowed one free look at your score per year, it is best that you print off that free score when you get the opportunity to view it.

Want a great reason why you should ALWAYS check your credit score? Here it is.
